Itinerary Details
Day 01: Arrival in Mumbai

On your arrival in Mumbai Airport meet our tour representative who further escorts you to your pre-booked hotel. Check-in and relax in your hotel. Rest of the time is to be spent at leisure. In the evening take a stroll around the locale if you wish to. Return to your hotel by evening, have dinner and stay overnight.

Mumbai was given the name City of Dreams owing to tremendous opportunity it holds, mainly in Hindi cinema. The city is the capital of Maharashtra and overlooks the gamboling waves of Arabian Sea. Its cityscape might remind you of that of New York. But along with the bustling nooks, Mumbai has clung on to its heritage and history and takes immense pride in all of that. It is unarguable that this very city gives a cut-throat competition to even the most developed cities worldwide, let alone of India.

Day 02: Mumbai

Have your breakfast in the morning and proceed for Mumbai sightseeing session, which includes Elephanta Caves, Prince of Wales Museum, Hanging Garden, Juhu Beach, Gateway of India and Marine Drive.

Elephanta cave is located in Gharapuri (The City of Caves), approximately ten kilometers away from Mumbai Harbor. The caves consists mainly of two groups- Hindu Caves (consisting if five caves) and Buddhist Caves (consisting of two caves). This rock-cut architecture adopted for the caves is datable to a time between 5th and 8th century. However an apt date of its construction is yet a mystery but historians have concluded them to the time when Mauryan rulers were defeated by Badami Chalukyas in 635 AD. Back then, the Elephanta was the capital of Konkan Mauryas and was called Puri or Purika. The caves today are a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Prince of Wales Museum is also known as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya. It was founded in 20th century in order to commemorate the visit of Prince Wales. There are about 50000 exhibits inside the museum divided into three categories- Art, Archeology and Natural History. Artifacts and relics of Indus Valley Civilization, Guptas, Mauryas, Rashtrakutas, Chalukyas and others are put here for public display. Other than this, you can behold beautiful prints, illustration of different wildlife species, paintings, manuscripts etc.

Just a few kilometers away from the museum is where the landmark of Mumbai stands, The Gateway of India. This structure was built in order to commemorate the visit of Their Majesties King George V and Queen Mary in 1911. Take a leisure stroll in the Hanging Garden, which is perched at the top of Malabar Hill, overlooking the beautiful Arabian Sea. This manicured terrace garden is festooned with a huge variety of plants and flower species. Juhu Beach, the popular beach of Mumbai is thronged with visitors. Some of Mumbai’s best street food and restaurants are located here. Marine drive is located in the heart of Mumbai, just beside a busy road. But the horns and screeches of city’s road don’t really interrupt the serenity that is attained here while sipping a cup of coffee and just simply unwinding.

Overnight stay in hotel.

Day 03 : Mumbai – Goa

Have your breakfast and check-out from your hotel. You get a timely transfer to Mumbai Airport in order to catch your flight for Goa. On arriving Goa, meet our tour representative and get shifted to your pre-booked hotel. Check-in at your hotel and relax. Rest of the day is to be spent at leisure.

Goa and its beaches pull huge crowd from different corners of the world. The state is a popular destination of India, especially for beach-persons and party-animals. But that is not all what Goa is about; its shopping scenario, biodiversity, architecture, heritage and culture happen to be assets of equal share. It is known for its laid-back vibe, but with all the amenities one could think of, even the ones unthinkable.

Stay overnight in hotel.

Day 04 : North Goa

Have your breakfast and head towards the popular beaches of Goa, such as Calangute, Dauna Paula, Miramar and Baga Beach. Old Goa churches and Fort Aguada can also be visited on the fourth day of your Mumbai Goa tour.

Aguada Fort was constructed in 1613 for the purpose of safeguarding from Marathas and Dutch. Even today the structure is well-preserved and overlooks a beautiful vista of sea and expanse of woods.

Old Goa sightseeing session consists of Cidade De Goa, Basilica Bom Jesus, Church and Convent of Francis of Assisi, Church of Saint Cajetan, Church of Saint Monica, Museum of Christian Art, Solar Souto Maior, Foutanhas and Panjim.

The Basilica of Bom Jesus houses the moral remains of St. Francis Xavier, a missionary who traveled across Asia to spread the knowledge until he died in 1552. St. Francis Xavier is regarded as the Patron Saint of Goa. The Church of St. Francis of Assisi was built in 1521 by the Portuguese rulers and marks the brilliance of architecture. In the Museum of Christian Art, you can witness a collection of Rosaries and items made of gold and precious stones. Solar Souto Maior is a reflection of Goa’s rich heritage, dating back to 1585 but has been restored and renovated. Here, you can witness a treasure trove of artifacts.

You may choose to take a stroll and shop in the busy streets of Panjim. This is the capital of Goa and has local as well as branded showrooms for the shopaholics. Also, foodies can find a myriad of restaurants giving cut-throat competition to each other in sense of taste, ambience and décor.

In the afternoon, have lunch in Panjim. As per our recommendations, you must try Goan Cuisine from the Mandovi Hotel, Continental from The Vinete, Indian cuisine from Delhi Darbar and Chinese and oriental from Goan Chin. Kindly note, the cost of lunch is not included in the price of the tour.

After lunch, visit Baga Beach which is filled with exuberance and youthful vibe. You may shop, relax or indulge in water-sports activities here.

Overnight stay in the hotel.

Day 05 : South Goa

On the 5th day of your Mumbai Goa holiday package have breakfast and get ready to visit the beaches of South Goa. Attractions to be visited today consist of Mangueshi Temple, Shanta Durga Temple, Colva Beach, among others.

Mangueshi Temple is a popular temple of Goa and also one of the largest in the state. It is dedicated to Bhagavan Manguesh, an incarnation of Hindu Lord Shiva. Other shrines inside the temple is of Goddess Parvati , Lord Ganesha, Nandikeshvar, Gajana, Gramapurusha Deva Sharma, Bhagvati, Lakshminarayan and others.

Shanta Durga Temple has its history dating back to 1730, when the foundation stone was laid. The shrine was earlier built of laterite mud and was later renovated in 1966. Main deity of the temple, Goddess Shantadurga mediates between Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu.

Also visit Margao, the headquarters of South Goa district. It also happens to be commercial and industrial center. Margao’s colonial quarter Largo De lgreja is a historical church square, surrounded by old buildings that have their own charm. It is surrounded by old buildings from three sides and the Church of Holy Spirit on the other. The church is one of Goa’s grandest churches datable to 1564, when it was built. Its architecture epitomizes Indian Baroque style of architecture, with interiors having regal feel throughout.

To learn more about the rural lifestyle of Goa, Ancestral Goa is a perfect place to be in. The laterite sculpture of Saint Mirabai is indeed the tallest laterite sculpture of India. Ethnicity and history is exhibited through its art galleries, artifacts center and open air museum.

After this, proceed to Menezes Braganza House in Chandor. It was built in 17th century and is located on one side of the village square, however now divided into two houses with same entrance. On its east is a small chapel that has relics of St. Francis Xavier. The interior reminds us of a beautiful past. On its westward is where you can find the claimed first private library of Goa.

Day 06 : Departure from Goa

On this day, after your breakfast, check-out from the hotel and get transferred to the airport in order to catch your flight for your onward journey.

Hence the journey ends.

This part of the state is dotted with some of the most beautiful beaches namely Dona Paula, Calangute, Baga, and Miramar Beach. Along with that, North Goa is home to a number of tourist attractions like Fort Aguada, Basilica of Bom Jesus and Se Cathedral.

Spend the day sightseeing around the region. You can begin with a visit to “Cidade de Goa”, the original name given to the ‘City of Goa’ which was established long back and now it is called Old Goa. Pay homage at the Basilica Bom Jesus, which is dedicated to Infant Jesus. The church has the sacred remains of St Francis Xavier. Also, visit other churches including St Cajetan, St Francis of Assisi, Se Cathedral and Church of St. Monica. All these shrines feature a unique architectural style which speaks much about the heritage and craftsmanship of those times.

Visit the Museum of Christian Art, which is one of its kind museum in Asia. The art hub is best known to house a collection of items like gold and precious stones and Rosaries. You can also visit the Archeological Museum. Later, travel to “Solar Souto Maior”, which is an aristocratic mansion which dates back to the year 1585. The mansion houses a treasure of artifacts.

Return to Panjim, the capital of Goa. As you drive through the city enjoy viewing its unique colonial architecture. Walk through the city and flip back the pages of the Portuguese history who ruled the state for nearly 450 years. Besides, visit the bustling markets of Goa and shop for gifts and souvenirs. Enjoy your lunch at Panjim.

Post lunch, head to Baga Beach, which is one the most popular, happening and beautiful beaches of Goa. Enjoy water sports and then you can go for a shopping spree at the Tibetan market.

Day 03: South Goa

After having your breakfast, head towards South Goa. Today, you will be sightseeing the major attractions of South Goa including Colva Beach, Mangeshi Temple, Santa Durga Temple and more. Begin with a visit to Margao, the capital of Salcette taluka and headquarters of the South Goa district.

Visit the historical “Largo de Igreja”, the Church square of Margao, which once used to be its colonial quarter. The church square is dotted with beautiful old buildings on one side and the beautiful Church of the Holy Spirit on the other. The Church of the Holy Spirit is one of the most grant churches of Goa, which was built back in the year 1564. It is one of the finest examples of Indian Baroque style of architecture.

Later proceed to “Ancestral Goa”, which is a re-creation of Goan rural life. The village has a number of artifact centers, art galleries, and open-air museums. There is a laterite sculpture of Saint Mirabai in the village, which is one of the longest laterite sculptures in India. The star attraction of the region is the “Big Foot”, which is a large footprint which was discovered on a rock while excavating the site.

Now it’s time to visit the grand house- Menezes Braganza house, in Chandor. This palatial structure was built back in the 17th century. The house has now been divided into two separate parts, with a common entrance. The east wing is occupied by the Pereira-Braganza family, which has a small chapel with relics of St. Francis Xavier. It also has artifacts, collected by the family over a number of years.

Along with that, the house also has a large ballroom and a Salon. Tiles from Portugal, antique chandeliers from Europe and beautifully carved, ornate rosewood furniture adds to the beauty of the house. A few things which give a distinct look to the house include a pair of high-backed chairs, which has the family crest, which was given to the Pereira-Braganza family by King Dom Luis of Portugal.

Most of the furniture items set in the house date back to the 18th century. It has been prepared using local Dalbergia sissoo (Martel wood) and lacquered with mother of pearl by craftsmen from Curtorim village. The house also has many items coming from antique aficionados.

The west wing of the house belongs to the Menezes Braganza family. The house not only features exquisite furniture and Chinese porcelain from Macau, but also a collection of family portraits, which date back to the 17th and 18th centuries. There is also a library which is believed to be the first private library of Goa. The library has a collection of 5,000 leather bound books which were personally collected by Luis de Menezes Braganza (1878-1938), a reputed journalist, well-known for playing a key role in Goa’s independence movement.

Anjuna Beach– This beach is characterized by jagged laterite boulders and bewitching red cliffs which overlook the sandy shoreline with the waves pounding them repeatedly. The beach also offers tremendous options for exciting activities such as parasailing, yachting and windsurfing, which can be enjoyed on a direct payment basis.

Fort Aguada, Goa– Albeit Fort Aguada presently serves as the Central Jail, it has witnessed numerous historical battles and episodes which have directly impacted the fort itself. Built in 1609-12, it’s the largest and the best preserved bastion in Goa. It was built with the intention of protecting Old Goa from external enemy attacks. You can also enjoy water sports at Baga / Calangute Beach.

Then there is the Vagator Beach, which boasts a lovely silver sandy stretch with enormous red cliffs overlooking it. One can also find two fresh bubbling springs in close proximity to the shore that appear quite enchanting.

In Mapusa, the visitors can select from a wide range of sightseeing options from bustling bazaars to historical forts that are visually appealing, besides being great historical attractions.

In the Mapusa Bazaar, one can experience the sights and sounds of a rural bazaar while getting hold of some authentic Goan ware. The entire town comes alive with the enthusiastic calls of vendors showcasing their goods, with the dusty pavements lined with colorful stacks of fresh fruit and spices.

Located in close proximity to Mapusa about 12km from Panaji is the Shri Bodgeshwar Temple. The temple, located in a lush green environment, is home to a small shrine dedicated to Kanakeshwar Baba or Bodgeshwar, locally known as Bongini.

Bodgeshwar, who is also known as “Angavani”, stands for the one in whose name vows are made and who fulfills the desires of the devotees. The people here hold a belief that all their prayers and wishes will be fulfilled. This is also the reason why thousands of devotees are attracted to this temple. Return to the resort for an overnight stay.

Day 3 Sightseeing in South Goa

Enjoy your breakfast, and then proceed towards South Goa for sightseeing.

Se Cathedral Church: This religious shrine, which is one of the most ancient and famous buildings in all of Goa, is dedicated to St. Catherine of Alexandria. Commissioned in the year 1631, the construction of this building took more than 62 years.

Basilica de Bom Jesus: Constructed in 1605, the Basilica is one of the foremost attractions of Goa. It’s famous for containing the tomb and mortal remains of St. Francis Xavier, who is believed to be one of the patron saints of Goa by the Catholics. Constructed in Portuguese style, the basilica is eminent for its architecture.

Palolem Beach is where you let go all your worries and accumulated stress and simply have a great time. The greatest attraction of this beach is its raw preserved beauty. This beach is inhabited by local fishermen and foreign tourists who stay in shacks along the shore or in the main village itself. Also known as the Paradise Beach of India, this beach is visited by tourists throughout the year and includes both domestic and international travelers.

Panjim Bazar: The River Mandovi, after travelling the length and breadth of Goa, makes its way to the Arabian Sea, thus presenting an enchanting sight. One can view this spectacular sight from the Miramar Beach, which provides splendid views. Return to the hotel followed by an overnight stay.

Day 4 Excursion to Dudhsagar Waterfalls
